Polish Semester 2025 in JRC Information

Poland takes over the presidency of the Council of the European Union for the second time, 13 years after the first Polish presidency, and 20 years after joining the EU. 

The main goal of Poland’s presidency programme is to implement the priorities set around the topic of security. The Polish presidency will make efforts to respect and promote the principles and values represented by the European Union focusing on the special role of civil society. 

This presidency coincides with the start of a new 5-year cycle, allowing for long-term goal-setting and planning. Poland aims to support a secure and prosperous Europe through various measures: external security, internal security, information, economic, energy, food, and health security.
